HOW TO SET A TEMPORARY PIN FOR YOUR GARAGE DOOR KEYPAD

This time of year is an in-and-out time for families. So many people are traveling during the holidays, so it’s important to know how to set a temporary pin for your garage door keypad. Setting a temporary pin can be a really big help when you are leaving for a day and need someone to check on your pets, or if you just have someone stopping over to pick something up while you’re out.

Here is a video with instructions on how to set a temporary pin, but if you’re more the reading type, here are some instructions from LiftMaster below:

NOTE: You must have a Security+ garage door opener to be able to set a temporary PIN number. Temporary PIN numbers cannot be set when using an external receiver.

  1. Enter your 4-digit permanent PIN number; press and hold the * key until the lights on the overhead motor unit blink three times.
  2. Enter the 4-digit temporary PIN number you have chosen; press and hold the enter key until the lights on the overhead motor unit blinks four times.
  3. To set number of hours:
    • Enter the number of hours (1 to 255).
    • Press and hold the * key until the lights on the overhead motor unit blink once. The temporary PIN number has been learned.
  4. To set number of times:
    • Enter the number of times (1 to 255).
    • Press and hold the # key until the lights on the overhead motor unit blink once. The temporary PIN number has been learned.

What our Customers are Saying

Door opener lifted door about a foot and stopped. We managed to get one car out but door was extremely heavy. Called Deluxe Door Systems based on their record with Angie’s List (we had never used them before). Told them it was not an emergency but they still had someone there in 4 hours. John W. had the springs replaced and the door in good working order in less than an hour. Not much more you could ask for. I would definitely use them again.
